Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist, Registered Nurse, Meditation, Yoga Nidra, Reiki and hypnotherapy
Betty Brown is a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist and a Registered Nurse (RN). She recently completed her Ayurvedic training with the California College of Ayurveda and graduated from University of Minnesota with her BSN RN in 1992.
As a nurse, Betty worked primarily in Critical Care, Bone Marrow and Cardiac Transplant. During the last 20 years, Betty transitioned from working in a hospital setting to focus on her passion for health and wellness, engaging in community initiatives promoting preventative health measures. Betty has an understanding of how western medicine addresses health and illness, and realized the missing piece in this health care model is a comprehensive holistic and preventative health system that is accessible for everyone.
Betty incorporates her passion for cooking through the lenses of Ayurveda, where food is considered medicine. She grew up in S. Korea, where she has fond memories of foraging in the mountains with her mother for herbs and greens used to promote general health and for specific ailments. Food not only satiates hunger, but supports the body's natural abilities to detoxify, to build new healthy tissues, and to build a strong immune system. Along with cooking, Betty is also trained in other holistic supportive therapies such as meditation, Yoga Nidra meditation, Reiki and hypnotherapy, which she incorporates in her Ayurvedic therapies.
