You may have heard that book bans are on the rise and school and public libraries are facing challenges to items in their collections. From Dr. Seuss to Shakespeare, Jodi Picoult to Angie Thomas, why are books and authors suddenly targets of increasing scrutiny and concern?
Join fellow yogi and retired school librarian, Melanie Miller, as we read and discuss banned and challenged books once a month starting Thursday, September 21st from 7:15-8:15 p.m. Monthly meeting dates: October 19, November 16 and December 14, 2023.
Here are links to a recent article about banned books: https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/books/story/2023-05-15/15-most-banned-books-2022-2023
