What Is a Healthy Breath: and How to Take One

  • Radiant Yoga + Wellness 634 High St Suite B COLUMBUS United States (map)

This workshop is for those who feel like they can’t take a full breath, whether that’s due to emotional or physical tension, illness, injury to the breath muscles, or any number of situations that set up dysfunction breathing patterns, slight or severe. It covers the anatomy of the breath muscles, exercises so that we can feel how those muscles work in ourselves and how it feels to use those breathing muscles correctly. We can’t correct a pattern we don’t understand, and we can’t understand a pattern that we can’t feel. This workshop will also be useful to yoga teachers who want to clarify what they are aiming for in teaching breathing to their students. What is a healthy breath? How do you recognize it? How do you work toward it?

And all participants will feel both relaxed and enlivened by the end of the workshop!

(Note: in three hours we begin a look at health breathing; in this time, it is not possible to correct severe problems which would require continuing guidance and practice over time. But this should illuminate healthy breathing for everyone.)

Linda Oshins has been teaching workshops on healthy breathing and on pranayama, the yoga breathing techniques, for over 25 years. Please reach out if you have questions before enrolling Linda@PhillipsOshins.com.
